Peculiarities of present situation

Perhaps, only Grand Dame Europe which initiated “Eastern partnership” and gave all the cards to the head of Belarus who uses them perfectly believes that there democratization and liberalization takes place in this country at full speed.

Everything what happens lately can’t be called “democratization”, “liberalization” and “progress” and others of that ilk.
Let’s leave the questions of economic changes, let’s stop at what happens in the political life of Belarus. Last Saturday many representatives of Belarusian democratic society were worried about temporary disappearance of Dmitry Dashkievich the leader of registered in Czech opposition party “Malady Front”. On December 5 the youth leader was supposed to take part in signing of agreement about creating a youth coalition “New generation” but in 11.00 when Dashkievich left his flat on the Partizan avenue in Minsk five unknown men attacked him. Dmitry didn’t even have time to close the flat. He was forced out of the entrance, put on two hats which closed his eyes and put him into a micro-bus. After that they were driven him about five hours no one knows where and after that they threw him out near village Antonovka (Logoysk district of Minsk region). According to the words of the leader of “Malady Front” he “managed to reach the village, to make a phone call to his friends from there and asked them to come to my place – the flat was opened about five hours. Those people, who were driven me in the micro-bus, took my bag with documents and my cell phone and gave nothing back. My notebook has disappeared from the flat”, - told Dashkievich to the reporter of BelaPAN. Well, the situation isn’t new, recently the alike situations happened to other “Malady Front” members – Denis Karnovy and Anastasia Polozhenko and to the leader of “Maladaya Belarus” Artur Finkievich. Of course, nobody’s found the guilty of these crimes. And there is no hope for the militia will find those who were responsible for kidnapping of Dashkievich. Kidnapping of people in a broad day-light is a vivid witness of democratization in Belarusian manner, isn’t it? Next. Pres-secretary of the “Malady Front” Tatiana Shaputsko was emergently sent down from the faculty of law of Belarusian state university for the so-called violating the inner order of this educational establishment. The real reason of this situation was the participation of Tatiana in the Forum of public society of “Eastern partnership” which recently took place in Brussels. By the way, it was known that Shaputsko will be send down form the university at the forum and even the chairman of the official Federation of trade unions of Belarus Leonid Kozik promised to organize a meeting in support of Tatiana if she is send down for the BSU. Well, the activist is sent down and Kazik says vague generalities about “classical life events”… And what about numerous trials on administrative cases in relation to opposition activists! I will only note that after quite a long time pause judges again started to send people who take part in unofficial strikes to spend 24 hours in the Centre of isolation of lawbreakers in Okrestsina Street in the capital of the country. Many people have forgotten this place name. So, recall it! www.Euramost.org has already reported about mass pressure on activists of “Belarusian Christian Democracy” Party. I’d like to note that lately Belarusian authorities and special service started acting with the same methods as they’d acted before the so-called “dialog” with European Union in the end of the last year. High European officials thought they had a possibility to “reeducate” Belarusian ruling powers and they started coming to Minsk. Not long ago they were calling Lukashenko “the last dictator of Europe” and now they are hugging with him, though they didn’t lift all the visas sanctions, they did it such way that it’s like flogging a dead horse for nowadays Belarusian authorities.
